The figure wears a top hat engraved TRAN. VAAL MONEY BOX and a buttoned frock coat. Coins slot through the hat, and the base unscrews to release savings. Produced as a Boer War satirical novelty, these coin banks reflected British political humour of the era and were sold as patriotic souvenirs.
